A collaboration between LA Opera, the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, and Healing Arts, The Los Angeles County Arts and Health Week Summit, held at LA Opera, brought together a range of medical experts, arts practitioners, administrators, policy-makers and researchers at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for discussions and presentations exploring how the arts can support health and wellbeing. In conjunction with the summit, a motion by participant Hilda L. Solis (Los Angeles County Supervisor, First District) was adopted to declare Arts & Health Week in the County of Los Angeles, and the county awarded an official commendation to the WHO–JAHL campaign for its contribution. Summit speakers included Renée Fleming (WHO Global Ambassador for Arts & Health and LA Opera’s Advisor for Special Projects) and Stacie Aamon Yeldell (author and music psychotherapist), among others. Christopher Bailey (Founding Co-Director, JAHL) gave the closing keynote speech.

In recognition of Los Angeles County Arts and Health Week 2023, the county of Los Angeles awarded an official commendation to the project contributors, including the Lab and WHO’s Healing Arts Initiative.
