Exploring a Healing Arts Activation in Norway

In June, the Jameel Arts & Health Lab participated in a workshop hosted at NTNU—Norway’s largest research university—to explore the potential for a Healing Arts Activation in the country.

The session introduced participants to the work of the Lab and the global Healing Arts initiative, with insights from Lab Co-Directors Stephen Stapleton, Nisha Sajnani, and Nils Fietje. They were joined by leaders from NTNU, the city of Trondheim, and the wider Trøndelag region.

This unique gathering brought together experts from both the sciences and the arts, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and highlighting the transformative role of the arts in health. Following a series of morning presentations, participants engaged in a facilitated workshop to envision what a city-, regional-, or national-level Healing Arts Activation in Norway could look like.
